Interviews: TURN COLD

This is a new interview with the Thrash Metal/Crossover band TURN COLD from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the artist on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

We have a group chat and we took turns rattling off about 500 names. We agreed Turn Cold was the least cringe.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It's fun playing thrash metal. It's fast, has lots of palm muting, and divebombs on guitar are widely accepted, and in no one's opinion can they be overused. It doesn't always have to be super serious or mysterious. We're not terribly serious people

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yep! We're all best buds.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Oof, too tough. We're also such metal fans. We all love Judas Priest.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life can be pretty mundane. Choosing to be active in a band breaks up the monotony and gives us a way to vent and express ourselves.

6. Where was your last gig?

Boggs Social and Supply in Atlanta, GA with Father Befouled. Sick gig!

7. Where would you like to act?

All over the world, preferably. Would love to get to Japan.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are so many new active bands right now that I wouldn't even know how to pick, so I'll just say Metallica.

9. Whom not?

We're not that picky. Racists and homophobes are a no-go.

10. Have any of you have ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Just the first show. After that, it all shakes off.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Slayer, Metallica, Power Trip, Iron Age - to name a couple.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A baseball bat with our logo on it. And we have those, so their wish was granted.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We're extremely appreciative. It actually takes a lot of effort to be supportive of artists. Especially where we're at in Atlanta. There's a great show every other night and people just keep going out and supporting.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think y'all have a good thing going here. I like that you have instant access to artists' free and paid music and I can. see it's mostly dedicated to the more obscure. Bravo!

15. Something to add?

If you're reading this on the east coast of the US, come out to a gig in July!
