Interviews: Diseased Earth

This is a new interview with the Death Metal/Sludge Metal band Diseased Earth from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on his FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

It was actually the suggestion of our bass player joe. We are stuck between several names and we landed on this one. It’s our view on humanity and how we are a virus on this planet.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Playing heavy and aggressive music is better than any drug or therapy on the planet and it’s freeing.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Joe and Travis knew each other. We met both, Paul and Clayton, after being established and playing shows around town.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

We all like a lot of different things and it’s extremely hard to nail down exact favorites.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our guitarist Paul said it best “we play music to keep the sad away”

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at a local brewery and was our first hometown show in over two years. It was a great night shrub a huge turnout and we had a pit going our entire set.

7. Where would you like to play?

We don’t care, as long as there is a crowd and a PA.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I’d love to do a song with Tim Waits. He’s such an amazing artist that I feel like he would come up with something crazy

9. Who not?

I’m not sure, I feel a true artist can collab with anyone and make something worthwhile.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

There is always a little fear of getting up on stage, especially playing places never played before, but once the music starts, all that goes away and go somewhere else in my head and I don’t worry about anything.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands like thou and pig destroy had a huge influence on me at first as a lyricist, and as I’ve grown, I look more to artists like Tom waits and Nick cave for inspiration.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I can’t say we haven’t had any weird requests

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s a great and informative site

15. Something to add?

Go check out our new single “New Jack Cocaine Binge” now available on all streaming services.
