Behind The Tracks: PURENVY - Sweet Poison (Single) (2022)

Zac Swan: (Drummer): This song originally started as a riff that our guitarist and vocalist Josip brought to a rehearsal session. The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory, we've all battled with addiction at some point, and it can be difficult to take the first step toward getting better. Recording the song was a lot of fun. The drums have a lot of different feels, between the straight 4/4 and the more swung 6/8 sections, but also there were a lot of opportunities to try some new techniques with chokes, dynamics, and double kicks.
