Interviews: Helldrifter

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Death Metal band, Helldrifter from Germany. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The idea came from a horror movie with nearly the same name, so I took all the words together and made the name Helldrifter.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Death Metal is a very powerful genre, it’s a genre that combines many different metal elements together. So, for me, it's a way to express all those things in one package. The aggression, the roughness, and the extreme imagery are what make Death Metal very unique.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes and no, the 3 of us (Singer, guitarist, and drummer) knew each other before. We were good friends. The other guys the guitarist and the bass player, I found them via an ad I’ve put in a musician search portal.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Carcass, Death, At the Gates, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Children of Bodom, Judas Priest, Slayer, Entombed the goes on and on!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We are fans of other bands so the biggest inspiration comes from listening to all of our favorite bands.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was just before summer in Germany Steinheim, we played together with the Thrash Metal Band Out of order.

7. Where would you like to act?

I think that depends, but I guess every Metal Bands dream is to play at the Wacken festival. But if it’s for me, I would say everywhere where Metal is welcome. I would play in front of just 10 People, as long as the people enjoy it, I’m in! Of course, I would love to play in front of thousands of people. But that’s not what makes a great show.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Maybe to do a song with Speed from Soilwork? That would be cool.

9. Whom not?

I guess anyone with no sense of humor.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Oh, that happens to everyone who is about to join a stage for the first time, the tip I can give is just: to NOT drink too much just to avoid the stress. Deal with it and go after it! I promise after the first 1-2 songs, the stress will go away.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Death, At the Gates, Carcass, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I guess to have a shot of bad liquor, I guess.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We have the coolest fans in the world!

14. What do you think of our site?

That’s some awesome content you have, I love the fact that your site is dedicated to underground and upcoming bands. \m/

15. Something to add?

May the force be with you
