Behind The Tracks: CITADEL - Oolacile (Single) (2022)

Oolacile was one of the more fun songs on the album. I started with the bouncy main riff and felt like it had a great live mosh feel so I knew I wanted to achieve a live staple with the track.

I think Oolacile has some of the band’s more complex arrangements and dynamic shifts between the guitars and vocals, complemented by the drums blasting away underneath tying everything together.

At the same time, I wanted to create a dance vibe in some parts, so having the rave siren-style synth intro with the pumping build-up, and the “salsa” groove in the chorus, helped tie these flavors in with the dark metal overtones.
