Interviews: Ryth

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Blackened Death Metal/Progressive Death Metal band Ryth from Bahrain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It was thought through, the mystical creature speaks volumes about our sound and themes. A Spectre.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Metal was always in us, we learned to express ourselves through our music and expand our imagination to form a sound that tells tales. The range from aggression to melodic themes can only be found in metal without being subtle.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we are long-time friends and it was metal that got us together.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

We all share a broad and somewhat similar music taste. But if we had to choose we would list Gojira, Dark Fortress, Opeth, Shining.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We are inspired by everything we go through, surroundings, realities, and fables and how they can relate together

6. Where was your last gig?

A local metal bar.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to take part in metal festivals, Wacken/ Bloodstock/ 70000 tons of metal cruise festival...etc

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would be honored to share the stage with any of our favorites or the bands we admire.

9. Whom not?

Anyone disrespectful.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I personally do not get that, I follow a career in teaching and have no trouble speaking to a crowd on a daily basis. However, we all get nervous from time to time due to different factors. And in the end, it is simple, people came expecting to see you put on a show, and out of respect for that, you are going to give them the show they came to see. Attitude is key.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

In the middle east, we go through tougher times surviving as bands of the extreme genre, a lot of local bands disband or decide to not continue when faced with the challenges. But there are local bands that have been active for years and they are more inspiring than international bands, as they are the ones that stick together through thick and thin for metal.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Someone (in all seriousness) requested for us to play a pop song during our live set.

13. What do you think of your fans?

As friends, a brotherhood of metal.

14. What do you think of our site?

I love that this is a more personal approach to promoting underground bands and gives more effort into it, I have been checking out the bands on the website and keep discovering more.

15. Something to add?

Thank you for the interview and for promoting our music, and thank you to everyone who would give the time to listen to our music!
