Interviews: Blood Of Angels

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band Blood Of Angels from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I had the band name in mind for a few months before beginning the band. It is a metaphor for the ending of organized religion. I also thought that it is a good name for a metal band.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Metal music has been a part of my life as early as I can remember. My father is a fan of the early metal bands such as Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin etc. As metal got heavier, so did my taste. I was also inspired by my local scene. Growing up in Tampa, Florida I was surrounded by legendary death metal bands in the beginning of their careers. Bands like Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Morbid Angel, and Death were having success from my hometown. I was a fan of these bands growing up. I am still a fan today.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Maggot and I have been friends for 14 years now. We were in a previous band together. Jonathan had been a friend for 10 years prior to Blood of Angels. He was in a different band, but we played many shows together. I didn’t know Randy prior to forming Blood of Angels. He and Jonathan have been friends for many years.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Randy Reyes: Slipknot

Aaron Robinson: Iron Maiden

Jonathan Rushford: High On Fire

Maggot: Slayer

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I am inspired by other bands and many forms of visual art. I am also inspired by personal experiences. We like to do concept records and focus on a singular theme. We are really inspired by all our supporters.

6. Where was your last gig?

October 16th at the Brass Mug in Tampa, Florida. It is the final show for the “Failure of Faith” album cycle. We are taking the rest of the year off before we start recording the next album.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Anywhere that books us.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Ideally, an opening for Lamb of God or Slipknot would be amazing.

9. Whom not?

Bands that are not metal.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I used to, but I just get really pumped. From my experience, there isn’t any trick to it. Just keep playing as many shows as you can, and gain experience. Also, a few shots of whiskey can also help.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Iron Maiden, Dark Tranquillity, Slayer, Morbid Angel, and Cannibal Corpse.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

When I toured South America, there was a lady that asked me to sign her pregnant belly.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They’re amazing, very dedicated, and very communicative. They inspire me to play, and we try our best to give them the very best performance we can.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your website is fantastic. It looks great. The website is easy to navigate. You cover the metal scene very well.

15. Something to add?

You can check us out on our official website, and social media sites. We look forward to writing and recording and new album. Thank you to Rogue PR for connecting us with you for the opportunity to do this interview. Thank you to everyone for your wonderful support. We hope to see everyone again soon.
