Exploitation of minority and working class communities is part of every chapter of American history. This country was built with our blood. But we all have very specific choices about what role we play in this narrative. We can choose to follow suit and remain part of the problem. Or we can choose to use what power we have to make things better for our people. Choosing to act doesn’t stop exploitation everywhere, but it’s empowering to know that every terrible act is just “another bullet in the vest” of your struggle. You will keep moving forward.
