Interviews: RETCHED

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal artist, RETCHED from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

My artist name RETCHED [recht'] Just rolled off my mind. A lot of people get confused with pronouncing it they'll say: "Wretched " which is not how you say it. That's another band that totally shreds I think they are from North Carolina. It means to want to heave or barf Which is how the world makes me feel every time I watch the news or hear it. Not to say that there are not nice things in the world as well but our world leaders make it hard for us to find peace and contentment and I feel it's a good name for a Thrash Metal act.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Ever since I got into Heavy Metal I always Gravited to heavy guitar sounds and so it was a natural evolution for me.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Well, my first metal band was like that. My neighbor was a drummer and we started talking about jamming after a few times forming a band was a plan the EP The Overlord Messiah was our project and we practiced till we were sounding so tight that we booked a session and laid it down in the biggest commercial studio in town that's why the sound quality is so good back in 1988 We were on a big analog console. These days I operate as a solo artist.

4. What inspires you to write songs?

Everything in the world inspires a concept like ancient civilization - history - outer space like what could be out there a⅞nd Innerspace like the ocean and what is under the water⁰ And what is buried in the sand also.

5. What are your influences?

Exodus - Anthrax - Megadeth - Metalica - Warbringer - Municipal Waste - Slayer - Testament - Havok - Violence and many more.

6. Where was your last gig?

I haven't played live in decades but I still can and will when it's time to showcase my new album.

7. Where would you like to act?

I will be speaking with my label when it's time and when I can afford to travel but I would love to do a full world tour someday in the future the Waken is one of my dreams.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I'd love to tour with Exodus - Sodom - Havok - Warbringer - and many more of my heroes.

9. Whom not?

I don't really have any I don't want to tour with. Except as long as I'm touring with Thrash Metal bands so I get in front of the proper audience who love Thrash Metal. The worst thing I think would be when your on a bill with different Jondras that don't really match big names could probably do good that way but new bands on the scene with smaller followings might have a hard time I think.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

No I have been performing since the age of eight years old I really enjoy working a crowd and the interaction although there's always going to be a degree of anxiety before the show the stress of getting to the venue the vehicle breakdowns the equipment failing or something like that you just learn to deal with it and move on. The best tip for getting over stage fright to me would be to practice until you are confident of pulling off a live gig also that you are confident with your live performances that are the first and foremost thing and then rest gets better the more you do it but, other problems will always be a factor all you can do is make sure you have a backup plan.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Exodus - Anthrax - Sodom - Testament - Havok - Violence - Megadeth - Metalica - Warbringer and more.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don't have any weird stories about that.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I love all the fans of RETCHED they give me hope and inspiration in my art. The fans have always been awesome.

14. What do you think of our site?
