Interviews: BLOODGEON

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band, BLOODGEON from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Willie came up with the band name. I don't know how I thought of Bloodgeon. But people asked if I combine "blood and dungeon". I could steal that, so I have a story hah. But really I just spelled bludgeon a different way. So I combined blood and bludgeon.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all just love metal. Playing fast is fun and so is challenging ourselves. So the extreme side (thrash, death metal) was a given. Although we just claim to be heavy metal.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Not the current lineup. Willie and Gary Gorman are brothers and started looking to form a band. But after that, No Brandon didn't know us before this. Ben replaced Gary after 11 years. We knew him since he recorded both our albums.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Collectively it is Metallica, Black Sabbath, Rush, ZZ-Top, Pantera, Primus, Venom, Sodom, Kreator, Slayer, Deicide, Krisiun, Morbid Angel, Led-Zeppelin, and many more.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Basically life. Playing our instruments is fun and the idea just flows out from there.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Minneapolis and it was a benefit show for a guy who got killed by a drunk driver.

7. Where would you like to act?

Act? We're not actors but we would do comedies hah. If you mean play live then, everywhere.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We'd play with anyone, especially if they are listed in our favorite bands.

9. Whom not?

I guess no racist, nazi bands. Nazi punks fuck off

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No, we've never suffered from stage fright. I would just suggest trying and using that energy to be excited and do your best. And know that you will fuck up. Mistakes happen.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Metallica, Slayer, Venom, Vader, Deicide, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse, and Black Sabbath.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Hmm. We once autographed someone's bowling ball.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We appreciate the fans for their support. We also think they have great taste in music haha.
