Interviews: Baltavar

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal/Heavy Metal/Melodic Metal band, Baltavar from Bulgaria. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or came out just like that?

The name came spontaneously. We wanted the name to connect to our Bulgarian origins and history. "Baltavar" is a title passed down from one khan to the next and years after it became a symbol.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We didn't want to play a specific genre of metal, we wanted to play something new, fresh, and original, which combines more than two genres. We wanted to have our own style of music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all knew each other before the band was formed. We are pretty good friends actually.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

If we start listing them, it's going to become one long list. Each of us has a lot of favorite bands - both famous and not so much.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

We can't decide what or who exactly inspires us. When we get together to play and the ideas just pop up. Maybe we inspire each other to create something new. 

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig we played was in Pleven, Bulgaria at Japara rock festival.

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere where there is a stage for metal - hehe.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We can't give a specific band name - we would like to perform with bands close to our genre. The bands may be heavier than us or not as heavy as us.

9. Whom not?

We can't give you a specific answer to this question as we haven't met someone we don't want to play with. We are open to meeting new bands and people.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

All of us have suffered from stage fright and sometimes even now we experience it. The tip we can give beginners is just to relax and jump into the emotions the stage gives them.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Every band we listen to inspires us - the old ones, the new ones, famous and not so much.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

This story is really uncensored - hehe.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Our fans are the thing that drives the band forward. They motivate us to keep making music and never back down.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site looks awesome. There are a lot of news and interviews that can be read by many bands and musicians.

15. Something to add?

We don't have anything specific to add to the questions. We want to thank you for the opportunity to interview us.
