Interviews: EON

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore band, EON from France. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Kader, lead guitar: It came just like that, I was drinking a whisky with the first singer in his a house, he was really older than me and a fan of Overkill, and at that time I was a student in physics and chemistry. On this occasion he made me listen to a track from an album of Overkill, there is a sound transcription of experiments that took place in a particle collider, and from there came the elements of noise: eOn

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Kader, lead guitar: Composed with my friends this kind of music and playing it, it’s like when I do weightlifting or sports shooting it relaxes us it’s life-saving, we have always loved metal as long as we remember. And the writing of lyrics allows us to cast without filters what we think with the excuse of art.

Nicolas (drums): I Always loved violent music since I'm 10 or 11. I started to play drums at this age and it was a natural way to express myself. I love to play everything but this...It's the Real deal for me.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Kader, lead guitar: Our band is a real story of friendship, we are practically friends since college and high school, we would not have the band we would still spend time together, etc. Besides, this is the strength of our music.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Kader Lead Guitar: it’s too difficult to make a choice!!! PANTERA.

Nicolas (drums): Guns n' Roses

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Kader Lead Guitar: It’s so vast; it ranges from personal experience to collective experience through the news, but also from fiction films or nightmares... Musically I am a real sponge I listen to everything as long as there is a guitar with retro or modern distortion.

6. Where was your last gig?

Kader Lead Guitar: The last big one, Marseilles opening for Sepultura

7. Where would you like to act?

Kader Lead Guitar: We want to play everywhere, at the moment it is difficult to get a place at beautiful festivals. We are the kind of band that can be found at a fest of hardcore, death metal, and "mainstream" metal, or during an extreme sports competition. We are ready to move everywhere in France and Europe. It would be a chance for us but also for the promoter or the programmer because we would be the cherry on the blast beat of the evening.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Kader Lead Guitar: Hatebreed, Napalm Death, Megadeth, Slipknot, Refused.

9. Whom not?

Kader Lead Guitar: Baby Metal...

Nicolas (drums): A band which would be too big and too different, to me It's the most dangerous package to take part in. Let's say Scorpions! I already did it with a complicated prog band and it was a pure nightmare.

10. Have any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Kader Lead Guitar: No, I’ve been on stage since I was 14 before I could even play guitar well! The trick to not having stage fright is to ride with the desire to have the fun of course you will please everyone.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Kader Lead Guitar: I am inspired by the efficiency of hardcore (Mad Ball / Comeback Kid/ ...), and thrash (early Metallica Megadeth Slayer).

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Flo (singer): One night during a show, a girl throws at us a tampax tampon with her phone number written on it... it was pretty weird because the tampon was a used one. None of us called back the girl.

Nicolas (drums): A guy in France, totally drunk, absolutely wanted to fight with me. He broke my balls for long minutes but fortunately for him, cuz I was ready, the singer of the headline band who knew calmed it down.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Kader Lead Guitar: There are really a lot of people who have been following us since the beginning and who have even become friends. It’s a real fan base that responds to every release of the record. Moreover, for this record, they push us to play the promo game of social networks, etc. It is the same with some bands that are fans of our music and are "more known": they think that we deserve much more recognition.

14. What do you think of our site?

Flo (singer): breathingthecore.com is an amazing portal to discover underground bands that deserve to be heard. Moreover, you didn't talk at all about the last Metallica song, that's proof of quality!

15. Something to add?

Yes, do not forget to enjoy life by going out to concerts, and festivals, small or large because meetings and exchange is the salt of life. Moreover, we have never seen a "rock'n'roll" level "legendary" story start alone in front of a screen.
