Interviews: MONROE

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band, MONROE from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The bass player and I are founding members and we both grew up in Monroe Center, Illinois one day we made a joke about starting a band after the town we grew up in and Monroe just kinda stuck!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Hard rock is filled with emotion. Songs can pump you up and they can make you cry your eyes out. I enjoy writing and making music that touches people on a different level.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The bass player Logan Bell and I have been friends since we were little kids! Later on, we met our guitar player Dalton Seebruck and then a couple years later met our drummer Josh Kennedy.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Gavin Arnold - my all-time favorite band is Guns N’ Roses but I go through phases of different New Age bands!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I believe writing music is very personal. Everything that I write (Gavin Arnold) comes straight from my heart. In hope that somebody else will relate because that’s what I believe music is about.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at District downtown Rockford for our “Return to Rockford show”. 

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere we can!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Oh, so many awesome bands that I would love to collaborate/tour with. We have had the opportunity to work with Sevendust members, Breaking Benjamin, and members of Three Days Grace already. They have produced our new EP “THIS IS REBIRTH”. Maybe in the future, we can get a featured song together! 

9. Whom not?

We are pretty open to all ideas and believe every opportunity is an opportunity. 

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I remember when I first started playing at an open mic and I was terrified. But now the bigger the crowd the more excited I feel! I think for a beginner you just gotta face your fears and remember that you’re there to put on a show! Eventually being nervous or scared turns into adrenaline and excitement!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bad Omens, Sevendust, Breaking Benjamin, Three days grace, Beartooth and so many more.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We had a fan ask us to schedule a date to come over for breakfast! A very nice gesture, but unfortunately we cannot make it.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are everything. They keep us going and doing what we love. Without them we are nothing. We hope to grow our fan base and create more music and content for our fans!

14. What do you think of our site? 

The site absolutely rocks!
