Interviews: A REASON TO BEGIN

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band, A REASON TO BEGIN from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

A REASON TO BEGIN for us really means having found a new reason to start over, to redeem ourselves from other musical situations or other personal situations or simply have found a new reason to get back into the game. The idea of the name came to me (Manno) after closing a twenty-year chapter of music with my old band, after twenty years nothing is simple, looking for new people to share the rehearsal room with, finding new stimuli, but fortunately everything turned out to be much simpler than expected.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Playing our genre is not a choice, you have certain things in your DNA, we don't see ourselves locked into a predefined genre, there are many facets in our tracks, each of us 5 listens to different things not necessarily Metal, and I think these differences bring a good added value to the final product

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Daniel (the drummer) and ILVILE (Alessio, the bassist) have already shared decennial experiences with another band, while Matt (the singer) we didn't know him, he arrived at the birth of our project, in 2016, exactly like Jean ( guitarist) who has been with us for just over a year.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Matt: The Black Dahlia Murder

Manno: Underoath

ILVILE: Marlene Kuntz

Jean: Cannibal Corpse

Daniel: Slayer

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The lyrics are all written by Matt, our singer, except REVENGE, which I thought of. all the lyrics come from social and personal experiences, from what surrounds us.

6. Where was your last gig?

Unfortunately due to covid in recent years, we haven't done many live shows in Turin in 2020, in August, just during that bad period.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere, we just play :)

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Personally, I don't find it important who I share the stage with, sometimes I prefer to share evenings with bands of genres that are also different from ours, there is always something to learn from others.

9. Whom not?

As said before, I do not exclude anyone

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I wouldn't call it to stage fright, the stage is a friend... it creates energy, and a live performance I think generates the right fusion of emotion and tension. Personally, I think it's right that it makes your legs tremble when you step on it. To beginners I would say what I've been saying to myself for years.... don't worry if your legs shake when you go on stage for life and see the audience ...... start to worry if you weren't excited.. it means you should stop playing...

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

One, in particular, is not there, in the 90s I listened to Metal, but a few years later I started listening to HardCore, my personal influences are too many to reduce everything to a name.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

.....Strange things always happen a lot :)

13. What do you think of your fans?

I prefer to make a general consideration .... if there were no fans, there would be no bands, they are the ones who support the music scene, and we are all directly connected

14. What do you think of our site?

Interesting, minimal, very complete. I really appreciate that they are dedicated to the meaning of the individual tracks and the artwork

15. Something to add?

For those who want to listen to our songs, you can find all our info on our website www.areasontobegin.it, and on our social networks that you can find on our contact page. Thank you for this interview and congratulations again for your excellent work!
