Interviews: Illuminated Void

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Doom Metal/Folk Metal/Shoegaze/Black Metal/Death Metal/Psychedelic artist, Illuminated Void from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the artist on his BANDCAMP PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it, or did it come out just like that?

Veriditas is a derivative of the word 'Viriditas' (Latin, literally "greenness," formerly translated as "viridity") is a word meaning vitality, fecundity, lushness, verdure, or growth. It is particularly associated with abbess Hildegard von Bingen, who used it to refer to or symbolize spiritual and physical health, often as a reflection of the Divine Word or as an aspect of the divine nature. I was familiar with terms based on my interest in and study of spiritual and esoteric subjects.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I grew up listening to and playing metal of various types, so it comes naturally.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

It's only me, so I suppose I knew myself to some extent prior to creating the band.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Too many to list, but I dig Swans, Yob, Anathema, Sabbath, to name just a few.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Anything can provoke inspiration but primarily reading, meditation, contemplation, and synchronistic life events.

6. Where was your last gig?

Illuminated Void does not play live.

7. Where would you like to act?

In my studio.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Maybe Swans

9. Whom not?

Anyone with a victim mentality or too caught up with identifying with their ego. Be in the World, not of it.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Sure I have, but whenever I have performed live with other bands I tend to imagine myself within a bubble of sorts, and that I am alone.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Swans, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Yob, etc. I feel more inspired by various music genres in general.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

An autograph. Why would anyone want my signature?

13. What do you think of your fans?

I am deeply appreciative of each and every person who listens to and enjoys the music I create...

14. What do you think of our site?

Seems pretty well put together and a great hub for discovering news and new bands.

15. Something to add?

Thanks for inquiring about Illuminated Void, and I hope you dig the new album!
