Teksuo - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore/Deathcore band Teksuo from Spain, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It was an idea from Adrián, our old bass player who took it from the film “Akira”, where there's a character: Tetsuo. We simply changed the second “T” for “K”, and that´s all.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
All of us love this kind of music. We usually listen a lot of styles, of course, because we are continuously in constant learning from almost all genres, but metal is just our life.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Constan and Teksuo´s former bass player, Adrián, played in a band called “A Soul Inside”. That band was the seed of Teksuo… They searched for people who wanted to join them in a new adventure, and then Rafa, Xuan and Dani (These last left the band some time ago) appeared, but nobody knew each other.
4. Each band member favourite band?
We really dig bands like Killswitch Engage or Withechapel. Each of us, obviously, have a personal music taste, for example, Constan really loves Deftones. Chris listens a lot The Safety Fire or As I lay Dying. My favourite band is Slipknot definitely. And I don’t really be confident about Rafa and Diego´s favourite bands, Rafa maybe is listening right now to Chayanne or something like that (sorry buddies hahahaha)
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Musically, the bands I listed before are a constant inspiration for us, plus personal influences we all may have, either of this or other genres we listen to. Lyrically, we talk about stuff like war, religion, corruption, bullying, social inequalities… unfortunately, concepts without an easy solution.
6. Where was your last gig?
We played in Valencia, in a venue called Sala Darkness, with a local band called My Last Words who are an amazing band and humble, down to earth guys. It was a killer show, great place and great crowd. I want to make a special mention to Rafa, the show promoter, who did an amazing job.
7. Where would you like to act?
This year we won the Resurrection Fest´s band contest and we shared stage with first class bands like Converge, Hacktivist, Aborted or Caliban, and for us, that was a huge achievement in our career. Next stop for us is to play outside our country, anywhere, we don´t care about that. That would be awesome.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Without any doubt, Whitechapel and Killswitch Engage. As I mentioned before, that two bands are a huge influence for us and to share stage with them would be a dream come true.
9. Whom not?
With any of those stupid bands which sounds every single fucking day in the radio. For god´s sake, I really hate´em all, hahahaha.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Maybe we were a little bit nervous at Resurrection Fest, moments before the show, but we don´t have stage fright. Any tips? Mmmm, maybe get one or two Bourbon shots, that would be enough for beat the frightening hahahahaha
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
From metal: Metallica, Slipknot, Chimaira, Lamb of God. But there´s some inspiration for me in other genres like country or pop, even in classical music.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Hahahaha I love that one. Nothing weird, but very emotive for me, happened in Salou. A girl who attended the show, approached to me and just told me “thanks for come here and play for us”. That was incredible, something I won´t never forget.
13. What do you think of your fans?
There´s no enough words in any language to tell how deep is our gratitude to the people who support us. Family, old friends, new friends…. for us, all this people belongs to Teksuo.
14. What do you think of our site?
It´s great to watch sites like Breathing The Core doing a great job supporting the harcore-metal scene and spreading the word. For all of us, that means a lot, for sure.
15. Something to add?
We are currently working on our third album, so stay tuned and be prepared for some blastbeats and growls, people!!! And thanks for this interview, man, hope to see you soon on the road!!!
