Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Hardcore band At Our Expense from USA, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name came from a former guitarist.  Wasn't planned, but when it was suggested it just encompassed what we were about.  We are all about the D.I.Y. ethic and At Our Expense represents that.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

There was no real conscious decision as to what style we were going to play.  When we started writing and playing we didn't want to box ourselves in, so to speak, by declaring "we will be this kind of band!".  We simply write music that we would want to listen too.  We feel that gives us the freedom to write all kinds of songs while keeping the At Our Expense "sound".

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Most of us did know each other before the band.  We went to the same or near by high schools, but we didn't meet our bass player Emory until our first real tour.

4. Each band member favorite band?

At the moment:

Angel Carmona - The Cure

Andy Argueta - Incubus

Danny Santamaria - The Gaslight Anthem

Danny Lopez - Coldplay

Emory Mugalian - Title Fight

Michael Duffy - One Republic

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The songs are inspired by life situations. Whether that be a relationship with a significant other or with family or friends. Dealing with loss and hardship and overcoming those things. Whatever we are going through is what is expressed in the music.

6. Where was your last gig?

We were fortunate enough to open up for the band Secrets this past Saturday night (1/3/15) at White Oak Music and Arts in Van Nuys, CA.

7. Where would you like to act (Assuming you mean play/perform)?

We aren't too picky about where we play. But I suppose being on the main stage at Warped Tour would be a dream come true.  And while we are dreaming big, we would love to play in anywhere in the U.K. and mainland Europe.

8. Whom would you like to feature (assuming you mean play/perform) with?

We would love to play with some bands that helped in influencing our music like Senses Fail, Taking Back Sunday, Title Fight, Underoath (fingers crossed that they reunite), Blink 182, or The Story So Far.

9. Whom not?

We are willing to play with anyone, so hit us up!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Can't say that we have ever had "Stage Fright", although that is not to say that we don't get nervous before playing. Normally we are kinda shy, semi - awkward dudes.  But once we get up there on stage and the lights are on and you start feeling the drums and bass, its almost like we take on a different persona.   The advice that we can offer is simply to know that you will screw up and that that is OK.  Most mistakes happen when you are trying not to mess up.  So just play, be loose and enjoy yourself because you are doing something that not a lot of people have the opportunity or courage to do.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands like Senses Fail, Taking Back Sunday, Title Fight, Blink 182, Now Now, Coldplay, The Gaslight Anthem, It Prevails, The Cure....too many to count.  We are fans of all music and we try to incorporate what we hear into what we write without prejudice.  Just because we have screaming and intense parts in our music, doesn't mean we can't take influence from an acoustic act or something else that's completely different.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We were asked to try homemade dear sausage. It was good.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are amazing.  We have been humbled time and again by the support that we have received by them. I don't care who you are, nothing beats the feeling of seeing someone sing the words to a song you have written.  All we can ever say is thank you.

14. What do you think of our site? 15. Something to add?

Its great! We are glad there is platform where hardworking bands can get some much deserved attention.  You guys are doing something good.  Just keep doing you!
