Long Time Divided - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Rock/Alternative band Long Time Divided from USA, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The band name was actually on a list of song names that I (DJ) had written down. We were trying to figured out what to call ourselves and everyone seemed to gravitate towards Long Time Divided.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We all come from and enjoy hard rock and metal. We just wanted to create music that we enjoyed, which just happens to be hard rock and metal.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Bob and Slick knew one another prior to forming Long Time Divided. I joined the band after auditioning, then Paul, and lastly Dean.
4. Each band member favourite band?
I grew up with grunge rock and I’d have to say Nirvana. Paul currently is listening to Killswitch Engage. Slick enjoys Fear Factory while Bob enjoys kicking back to Red Hot Chili Peppers. Dean enjoys everything from Pantera to Dream Theater.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We usually just build off the moment. It might be a riff that Dean or Paul come up with, or a vocal hook that I come up with. Bob might have a bass line or Slick just plays a beat and we go with it. Whatever is going on in our lives, we just let those emotions come out and then build songs from there.
6. Where was your last gig?
The Dead Horse Cantina in McKees Rocks, PA, outside of Pittsburgh.
7. Where would you like to act?
We’d love to play out at the Whiskey A Go-Go out in Hollywood. So many bands that we all enjoy have played there at one time or another and we’d love to be a part of that history.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Honestly, we’ll play with anyone. We’ve been fortunate enough to open for bands like Fuel, Static-X, Soul Asylum, Soulfly, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, and Eye Empire, just to name a few. We just enjoy playing and as long as people are willing to have us, we’ll play a show.
9. Whom not?
Again, we don’t care who we play with. We enjoy being up on stage and putting on a great show for people.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Honestly, no. We enjoy being up on stage and performing. The best thing I can recommend is to just keep getting up on stage and getting outside your comfort zone in public.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Again, I’d have to look at the bands we like (Nirvana, Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pantera, Dream Theater) and then the bands we’ve played with, both nationally and locally. We’ve learned so much from the bands we’ve played with.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
I wasn’t asked for anything but it’s no secret that I’m a comic book fan. A couple of fans came to a show and presented me with a pair of signed Batman underwear. I actually still have them today and keep them in my microphone bag for good luck. HA!
13. What do you think of your fans?
I love our fans. The LTD Army is just so damn awesome. They talk to us at shows or via Facebook and Twitter (when they can’t make a show), whatever. They’re great. Truly great.
14. What do you think of our site?
I dig it. A lot of cool content, like your compilations, promoters, and reviews. And unless I’m mistaken (and I easily could be) I think we’re the first Pittsburgh band you guys have interviewed. Right? HA!
15. Something to add?
Thanks for the interview and we hope all your readers go pick up our self-titled album, Long Time Divided, available on Amazon, iTunes, and well pretty much every other digital music outlet. Trust me, you’ll love it!
