Arcempire - Interview

In this new occasion we have the awesome opportunity to interview the Hardcore/Post-Hardcore band Arcempire from Germany, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We’d been writing music for quite a while before we even thought about finding a name for the band. After a couple of months of mulling over different names we ended up with two very different ones, but we couldn’t decide which one to go with so we just ended up combining the two names to one, Arcempire.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

We didn’t want to limit ourselves right from the get go by saying “We’re gonna play genre x”. Everyone had a general idea of what they wanted to do, we then just let all those influences go into the songwriting without labelling it too much. The way we write music is very intuitive this way.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Four of us had been playing in another band ‘From constant visions’ for about 8 years when we decided we wanted a change. We were missing a Guitarist at the time and Benni, our Drummer, knew a guy (Chris) who had been writing and playing music in a solo project for a while and introduced him to the Band. It didn’t take long for everything to just ‘click’ and Arcempire was formed.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Every member of the band has a very different and diverse musical taste ranging from pop to black metal but at the moment it looks something like this:  Envy, Biffy Clyro, Rinoa, Thrice. We asked the other Guitarist, Chris for his input but he didn’t answer. So, Brian Adams.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

We all love creating and playing music a lot. Apart from that we’re all friends outside of the Band too.

6. Where was your last gig?  

The last gig, coincidentally our first with this Band was at Backstage, Munich. We played with our local friends Waves, a Post-Rock Band.

7. Where would you like to act?  

This is different for everyone in the Band so i’m just gonna list them. Japan The UK Glastonbury Festival Vans Warped tour.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

We could probably die happy if we could play with any of these Bands: Alexisonfire, Rinoa , Foo Fighters, Deftones

9. Whom not?  

We will never knowingly share the stage with any person or group of people that are sexist, racist, fascist or any other hateful asshats.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

The tiny bit of nervousness one gets right before you hit the chords or cymbals never fully disappears. Except for Alex, our singer, for some reason he has never had any stage fright whatsoever.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

If we had to name some Bands that definitely influenced the way we play music it would be Deftones, Thrice, a lot of British Hardcore and Post-Rock Bands. Chris says Brian Adams.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

The old band (From constant visions) was asked to play at a wedding.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

They are beautiful creatures and we love them.

14. What do you think of our site?  

You guys are also beautiful creatures. We think it’s great that you feature bands of small and big fame equally.
