Interviews: The Dreamer Within

In this new occasion we have the awesome opportunity to interview the Metalcore band The Dreamer Within from UK, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We wanted a name that would represent what we write about. We feel “The Dreamer Within” highlights that there is a positive side in every human being.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Probably a mixture of there not being a lot of bands doing it at this stage and that collectively it’s probably our favourite genre of music. We all listen to this kind of music on a day to day basis so it only seemed natural, there wasn’t much of a choice involved, it just happened. That and the fact that it’s totally acceptable to have glow sticks and UV paint at our shows now!
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Alex and Charlie knew each other from school. Josh and Alex are cousins, although people know that two of our members are cousins they can never guess who it is, I think it’s our matching haircuts that throws them off. Charlie and Eliott had mutual friends in common and after knowing each other through social media actually met for the first time at our first practice. Matt’s been involved in bands so in our early days before he joined we knew who he was and there was an inclination that he might be keen to join and he did!
4. Each band member favourite band?
Alex: Funeral for a Friend
Eliott: Anberlin
Matt: Attila
Josh: Limp Bizkit
Charlie: Story Of The Year It’s a diversity of bands…
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We’re inspired the universe, conspiracy theories, aliens and computer games. Most of our music has an underlying dark tone but the messages are largely positive, working on topics like questioning our place in the universe, overcoming hardship and of course the classic scenario of Sephiroth and Jenova’s roles in the intended destruction of Gaia, normal stuff.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was in Plymouth, Uk supporting Palisades on their Uk tour. Palisades are probably one of favourite bands so it was a great experience. Their music is always on during the pre-drinks.
7. Where would you like to act?
We’re really keen to get out and play more around the UK and hopefully swiftly over into mainland Europe in the coming years but I think the dream tour would be over in the US or Australia, we get a lot of positive feedback from our fans over there, they really seem to enjoy our style of music.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Taylor Swift, I think she’d love our music as much as we love her… right?
9. Whom not?
Kanye West. He’d become jealous of our use of Autotune and we wouldn’t want to upset him!
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I think when we played the Exeter Zombieball back at the end of 2014 we were all a little nervous, we were on the line up with Glamour of the Kill and Skindred, the venue was packed and we’d only been a band for 3 months! Best thing is always a cheeky Strawberry Daiquiri to calm you down. That and turning your sub drops up so loud that it literally knocks the nerves out of you!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
There are a few bands out there who without we probably wouldn’t be doing what we’re doing. Bands like Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack and Enter Shikari are really a huge influence in our music.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We got asked if we’d play a show dressed as the power rangers and we’re not one to disappoint, check it out on our social media!
13. What do you think of your fans?
I’m sure everyone says that their fans are the best but ours are the reason we’re still making music, every nice word, tee-shirt sold or single bought on iTunes just reaffirms why you do it, just for the rush of having someone like what you’re doing and promoting you. In our early days we only made this band so that we could play our songs live once just to say that we’d done it but the reception from people was so overwhelming that we just carried on and never looked back.
14. What do you think of our site?
The setup is really cool, it really draws you in to want to learn about the bands that are featured.
15. Something to add?
Keep an eye out for details on our ripped and new debut EP and upcoming UK tour ;-)
