Interviews: Seconds Ago

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Seconds Ago, from USA. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our bassist Andrew had been compiling a random list of band names from when he was like sixteen and on, so we literally chose one off of the list that sounded cool and wasn't taken by anyone on the internet doing anything largely significant at the time hahaha

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It's just what we're into and how we've expressed ourselves over the years; every positive aspect of metal and hardcore from the studio to live shows is rad as fuck.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Andrew (bass) and I (Vaughn; guitar) have been friends for almost twelve years. We met Richard (drums) on Facebook and Dom (vocals) through playing a house show with his old band when we had a different vocalist.

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life experiences and random inspiration, emotions, being in a creative environment, anything really.

5. Where was your last gig?

Haha. A chicken nugget themed house show/pool party like 45 minutes northeast of our hometown with some other local friends of ours, definitely an experience.

6. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere that we can get booked! We want to play as many places as we can in the time that SA is a thing.

7. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are way too many bands to list in this genre that we would want to link up with haha, all of them would be nice.

8. Whom not?

Bands with poor and entitled attitudes. We're all broke, getting paid near nothing, eating fucking Taco Bell at the end of the night, so shut up.

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

If you aren't nervous your first few shows you aren't human. Don't rush and book shows until you seriously feel you are ready, play in front of friends that go to shows often and get their opinions, practice as much as you can, and MAKE FRIENDS WITH OTHER LOCAL BANDS!

10. What bands have you inspired the most?

The Ghost Inside, Northlane, Adaliah, Knocked Loose; those are a few of the names that have really pioneered some of the sounds that we enjoy and have tried to mend into an aggressive, raw, yet melodic, sound of our own.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Oh man haha. Well, nothing super out of the ordinary, but this one girl actually took the time to draw a portrait of Richard drumming, I thought that was pretty crazy.

12. What do you think of your fans?

Everyone we've met has been truly awesome, I would imagine that you can't ask for better people to follow your music. Thank you to anyone reading this, seriously.

13. What do you think of our site?

There's nothing that we respect and appreciate more than sites that help promote local music, so we love it haha.

14. Something to add?

Form bands, go to shows, support local heavy music, it's seriously so important. SA wouldn't be here if it weren't for our local San Diego friends in End of Flesh, Victimized, I Suvive, Peace in Terror, Voidlines, Ascensions, SunTorn, Turn it Around, Frontside, and Vile Creations. Oof oof.
