Interviews: Alaska

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Progressive Metalcore band Alaska, from France. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

When "Alaska" as been formed we had to define a band name, Alaska and the idea of a raw/wild spaces are something like. And it's was an easy name to remember

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

Because this a the kind of music we like, and really enjoyable to play live

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

We had several band members from 2012 to 2016, Kevin and Thibaud are the only former members

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Kevin: The color moral

Matt: The devils wear prada

Anthony: Sylosis

Thibaud: Alexisonfire

Max: As I Lay Dying

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

For the lyrical part, we are inspired by our own question about things, by something we feel in a moment. For instrumental part we are inspired by what we listen, what we like to play and by things that will be powerful to play and listen live.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Our last gig was in Lyon 

7. Where would you like to act? 

I think outdoor festival would be something we could really love to do

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

We would love to play with band like Skyharbor, Monuments and massive bands like Architects etc

9. Whom not? 

No one, we would be happy to play with every band

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

 

Of course we have experimented stage fright. I don't think their is any tip, just practice as much as you can before the show and we are doing "rock" "metal" let's just do it ! 

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

We are inspired by every bands we listen, metal band or not. But I think as a live performance Tesseract, Monuments and Tool are really inspiring bands.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

To have sex with her and his cousin in the same time. We are not sure it was really serious ! 

13. What do you think of your fans? 

I think our fans are amazing, they are supporting us in a lovely way since our album comes out ! We would never think we could have this kind of support especially after 2 years of silence.

14. What do you think of our site? 

I think metal webzine are a nice way to discover new band or stay in touch with band you like. You guys seems passionate and that what this scene need, passionate people
