Interviews: Milestones

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Post-Hardcore band Milestones, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Milestones is actually a form of our old band that Myself, Jake and Michael were in. We wanted to change the sound and direction into something we loved and enjoyed. As far as the band name goes, we chose it because we have all gone through some sort of stepping stone in our life...and every step we take towards a positive life is a milestone. That's how Milestones came to be.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We all love this genre one way or another. Personally for me I like my lyrics to tell a personal story and Post Hardcore/ Metalcore seemed to be the right for instrument wise.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Well we all know each other through the scene or person. I am actually marrying Michael's sister and that's how we met and started playing music together. I've always wanted to work with Jake musically and Devin and Tyler I know just through local shows.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Mine (Aaron) would be a tie between Capsize, Silent Planet, & Until We Are Ghosts. Jake's would be Vanna and August Burns Red. Devin's is Rings of Saturn. Michael's is Rose Funeral and Tyler's is Whitechapel.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Well I am a recovering drug addict so my goal when I write to write the realest lyrics I can write. Something that I keep buried deep down that I can't express through any way but my music. All my songs are about real experiences I've gone through. Hotel Books and Until We Are Ghosts are huge influences lyrically with me. They never leave anything out, they put it all on paper and into their music.

6. Where was your last gig?

At Shorty's Hall in Milwaukee for Survivalist's final show.

7. Where would you like to act?

I really want to go to the east coast and play in New York and Boston. It's always been my dream to play there. Or Chicago at the House of Blues.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

That's a hard question.... I think any bands to be honest. We've all been listening to this music for a while and just to get the chance to step on stage with a band that we watch from the crowd so many times would be an honor

9. Whom not?

Any opportunity to further ourselves in our music careers, we will take. No matter who it is.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think all of us at first. Especially the few that haven't performed live before this band. I always just have the mindset of "Just don't care what anyone thinks in that crowd, just be you."

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

So many. The Ghost Inside especially because they have gone through so much in the last year and they still want to continue to make music and perform despite everything. That's all of our goals, just to do what we love to do NO matter what.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

There's not to much of that besides people asking to pet my beard on a constant basis.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans. The connection we want and have established with our fans is driving all of us. We just want to let everyone know they are not alone. We love all the support from everyone we have. Anyone that has bought a shirt or album or just watched our set, we love.

14. What do you think of our site?

I love it. The fact that you take time to give local bands recognition is beyond grateful. There's so many up and coming bands out there that don't get recognition but it's sites like yours that help them get into the spot light and help there music get out there.

15. Something to add?

We have a lot in store for the next year. Lots of shows and more tours. We hope to meet all of you soon. We can't wait to play in your city. Don't forget to follow us on all our social media platforms. Thanks for all the love and support. Don't forget, you're never alone.
