Interviews: Brochures

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Hardcore  band Brochures, from Sweden. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

We wanted our band name to be kind of simple but still have some meaning to it. We knew that people were judging us for playing this kind of music even though they don't know us, so we thought that it was kind of the same thing with foreign places and brochures. You read a brochure of a place and get an idea of how that place is, even though you've never been there. Basically the band name means just that; don't judge people before you get to know them.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We wanted to play something that was challenging and fun but also different. This is the best we could come up with.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Robert and Robin has known each other since before the band.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Robin Forsberg (vocals): Underoath

Robert Lönnroos (guitar): August Burns Red

Joel Loof (guitar): CHON

Johan Engström (drums): Your Demise

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Everytime we stub our toes we channel the energy into breakdowns and phat riffs.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Our last gig was in the capital of Sweden, Sourhammer, it was beyond all recognition.

7. Where would you like to act?

 

We'd love to play abroad.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Jake Luhrs from August Burns Red seems like a really cool guy.

9. Whom not? 

No one really, we're open to all kinds of music. We like nice people.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

It's good to be nervous, try to relax and just go with the flow. Someone famous suggested handstanding to deal with nervousity, we aren't very acrobatic so we can't really comment on its legitimacy. We get nervous everytime before a show.

 

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Parkway Drive and their documentaries are one of our biggest inspirations. If you haven't watched them you're in for a treat.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

 

To see us "in best position in unbelievable rockstar", it was a fan who wasn't very good with english. We were very flattered nevertheless.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We love our moms, our dads and anyone else who happen to like our band, thanks.

14. What do you think of our site? 

It's so cool that you're spreading cool music in this cool scene. Cool unknown bands get a chance to be listened to by cool people who maybe wouldn't have listened otherwise and that is super cool of you guys. Cool.
