Interviews: HONRA
In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore/Death Metal band HONRA from Brazil. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The name of the band means honor, honor our ideals, our values as human beings, respect family, friends and everyone around you.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
It is a musical genre in common among all of the band. We are fans of the Deathcore / Metalcore / Death Metal scene.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, some of the members are childhood friends.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Hard to say the favorites, but we have some bands that we admire in common:
As I Lay Dying, Memphis May Fire, Trivium, August Burns Red, In Flames, Aversions Crown, Shadow of Intent, Nile, Carnifex, Sepultura, Attila, The Black Dahlia Murder, Despised Icon, Inferi, The Faceless, While She Sleeps, Veil of Maya and more.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We have some members who work in the health area, they are nurses. And we like to turn our attention to social and health problems. Talk about how complicated it is to take care of a disease, to acquire some disease, and we make it a point to warn how important it is to take care of health, to look after the good coexistence. Our first clip that is also from the music that will be present in its compilation portrays the difficulties of some patients with multiple sclerosis. Here in Brazil also known by the acronym E.L.A.
6. Where was your last gig?
We played in the biggest Festival directed to Rock and Heavy Metal of our State, called PALCO DO ROCK. It happens annually in the same period of the Carnival in our city. In February, Salvador-Bahia-Brazil.
7. Where would you like to act?
We want to tour all continents someday. We really admire our South American scene. And we also really want to go to Europe and North America someday.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Everyone who is present in this scene is important, not just our favorite bands. We want to share space with everyone who makes it all happen.
9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I think even consecrated artists are still afraid of the stage, but the important thing is to believe in what you are doing and that everyone is in the same boat.
10. What bands have inspired you the most?
All of those quoted above inspire us in general. And more, but the list would be infinite!
11. What´s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We are a relatively new band, we are conquering our space little by little, after almost 10 years we have got an incredible merchan that finally is attending to all and repercribing very well. This has always been a public charge, the people who admire us wanted to wear our brand and now this is possible.
12. Waht do you think of your fans?
Most of them are friends, we consider a lot of them and we are grateful for everything.
13. What do you think of our site?
Your website is amazing, your proposal is admirable. Bands need this support, including new bands. It is a direction, a way of being recognized. And we are very happy to be part of this!
14. Something to add?
Just to thank for the space given, this partnership will be incredible and we are proud of it. We are in all social networks, selling our merchan, releasing our songs on digital platforms and we are starting new recordings, singles will be coming soon and the next album will be released next year.
