Interviews: Vile Urn

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore band Vile Urn from Turkey. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Özgür/Guitars: We love playing games which includes mystical details, stuff, characters, mythology. It is an actual combination with our inspirations.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Özgür/Guitars: We are listening this genre in our daily life and love it.

Berk/Guitars: Actually when I start to play guitar, I do not care about genre, just care about what am I playing. If we try to create a traditional genre it transforms to NWOAHMl.

Sinan/Bass: I think If groove and melodies are in foreground It makes songs more catchy. Thanks to this we can contact with audiences.

Buğra/Drums:  I enjoy playing in many different genres but I like the powerful sound and strong riffs in metal music since i was a child.

Mert/Vocals: I don't know any other genre to express my inner thoughts.

3.Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Buğra/Drums:  I met Mert and Özgür in my high school years. Sinan and Berk was Özgür’s friends, we met in one of our jam sessions.

Özgür/Guitars: Berk was my office-mate and Sinan came to studio for some work.

4.Each band member favourite band?

Özgür/Guitars: Periphery

Berk/Guitars: Judas Priest

Sinan/Bass: Mastodon

Buğra/Drums: Veil of Maya

Mert/Vocals: Currently, Thy Art Is Murder

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Mert/Vocals: Inspiration generally changes with songs but the biggest inspirations are probably passion and wrath.

Özgür/Guitars: Generally our anger but more than anger. Our “wishes”

Berk/Guitars: For me, negativity

Buğra/Drums: I am the mastermind of this band. I wrote all the lyrics because I am highly educated. I taught myself how to read and write when I was 6 months old. When the other members didn’t know how to speak, I was composing my first concerto for drums and violin (I was 3 years old). I read in so many different languages, sometimes I forgot how to communicate with my peasant friends. My inspiration comes from me obviously. If everybody was like me, world would be a better place to live in.

6. Where was your last gig?

Özgür/Guitars: Redrock

7. Where would you like to act?

Mert/Vocals: All around the globe.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Özgür/Guitars: Metal music can fits to Christina Aguilera.

Berk/Guitars: No one :)

Buğra/Drums: There are so many musicians i would like to work with. If I had i choice, I’d say Celldweller.

Mert/Vocals: Probably, Roger Waters

9. Whom not?

Özgür: Donald Trump.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Özgür/Guitars: Here is my only suggestion; If you have a Mert(Vocals) in your group try to NOT make eye contact.

Berk/Guitars: I am used to it. Just one time, my parents came on and because of that I was exited. I do not have any suggestions because I do not know either.

Sinan/Bass: Yes , when I was 15 while I was playing , I could not hear myself. I felt like jelly. If you sure about yourself and your skills, it will help you to run out your fears.

Mert/Vocals: Absolutely and probably the most important tip is: do not forget to breath.
