Interviews: Indisregard

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Indisregard from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

When our vocalist Oscar and I (John) started the band in 2016 we tried really hard to come up with a good band name, but we didn't really have any ideas as to what we would like to convey with it.  In the end, I came up with Indisregard from one of my favorite songs at the time which was "In regards to myself" by Underoath.  And there we had it!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We didn't at first haha. In the beginning, we were planning to play music in the style of A Day To Remember, but after we started writing we found out that it was really hard to write music that doesn't come to you in a natural way. After we realized that we just started to write without any plans of how we wanted it to sound and just went with the flow.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Oscar and I played together in a different band back in 2012, and I kind of knew our other guitarist Richard from that time as well. It wasn't until he joined Indisregard that we began to know him better though.
4. Each band member favorite band?

At the moment my favorite band is Enter Shikari, Oscar's is Fit For A King and Richard's is Periphery - but this tends to change from time to time.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Most of our lyrics are inspired by our own thoughts or stuff that has happened to the people around us. When we write music we try to write in a way that touches people in some emotional way. But most importantly we write stuff that we really like to play and listen to ourselves!

6. Where was your last gig?

We have not yet played a show as Indisregard, but we have some plans in store and are really looking forward to getting out there and play in the future!

7. Where would you like to act?

Wherever they would let us and appreciate us really! A show we would never turn down though if we were ever to be asked, is Knotfest!  That would be amazing!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We all have different people we appreciate and look up to. For me it would be Will Swan of Dance Gavin Dance, Oscar would like to collab with Caleb Shomo of Beartooth and Richard's choice is Misha Mansoor from Periphery.

9. Whom not?

Cardi B says Oscar haha, but in general anyone who is a touchy person.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Oscar did, but for all of us, it's more of a fear of not being prepared to play a show more than fear of the show itself. Our best advice would be to just come to a show as prepared as you possibly can. But one should also remember that it doesn't really matter if you make some mistakes.

It happens to everyone, and it's not the end of the world if someone in the crowd doesn't like your music, as long as you do!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bring Me The Horizon was a big influence in the beginning, but now it's more Dance Gavin Dance and Every Time I Die for me. Architects and Beartooth is a big influence for Oscar. Richard's early influences were Slipknot and NOFX, but the bands that shaped him as a guitar player were bands like Lamb of God, August Burns Red, Periphery among others.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To get a CD signed I guess. We haven't been asked anything crazy really!

13. What do you think of your fans?

What fans? haha. No, the fans we have right now are very dedicated and it makes what we do even more fun! Hopfully more people out there will enjoy our music soon!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's great, we discovered it quite recently but it's really good that there are sites like this who help the smaller bands like us reach out with their music!

15. Something add?

We just released our new EP "Half Empty" - and it's available for streaming at most streaming services!  It would mean the world to us if you followed us on Facebook and Spotify and spread the word! Thanks for having us!
