Interviews: Event Relentless
In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band Event Relentless from Finland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
I was 17 years old and I just had a picture in my mind that “Event Relentless” would look cool in a big festival
poster. That’s where the name came out.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
It’s something we’ve always been into, never really thought about it why. But obviously everyone of us has been
listening metal since we were kids, so lots of the influences comes from the metal music. But there’s no limits when it
comes to music, and our genre has changed quite a lot from the days we started. It used to be something like melodic
death metal years ago, but nowadays there’s more elements to it, like there’s clean vocals on most of the songs for
example.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No, we didn’t. I started this band first as my solo project in 2013 when I was 17. I recorded some shitty sounding
demos and put them on Youtube and then started to look up people to the project to form it a band. We found this
current line up during the years and there have been few line up changes.
Henri, our bassist, came in 2015. At first he was supposed to come play just 2 shows with the band, as we didn’t have
bass player but shows booked. After we were done with the second show, he was like “let’s not stop there, okay?”. 4
years later from that day we’ve playing in 16 countries.
Joonas, drummer, came in 2017 and we found him from musicians website with Henri. And Lari, other guitarist came
to the band last year.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Juho - From Ashes to New
Joonas – Insomnium
Lari – Stam1na
Henri – The Black Dahlia Murder
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Life in general, like different feelings, phases and chapters in life. Also I get a lot of inspiration to write music from
playing shows and tours.
6. Where was your last gig?
In Riga, Latvia, June 2019. It was last show of 3 weeks touring. Started really feel the touring at the point, haha.
But the show was awesome. We’ve been playing like 5 times in Riga and it has always treated us good.
7. Where would you like to act?
New countries always exciting to play in. Next year we are going to play in Spain, France and Belgium for the first
time, so that’s nice. This year we played in new countries also, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. Was really cool
tour!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Last time I answered this same question Corey Taylor. Lets say Bring Me The Horizon today.
9. Whom not?
I have no idea. Maybe some shitty techno artist
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Hmm, not really. It’s just feeling of excitement to get on to stage. Can’t really use fright definition for it. But I
think someone who has that, it helps when you know what you’re going to do on the stage and you got your parts
practiced well and so on. And also remember that it’s not question of life and death, it’s just a live music show and
people are going to have fun there, that’s it.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I bought guitar next day after I saw Metallica in my hometown in July, 2009. So probably they have inspired me
the most, as without them I probably never would have started to do music and that way my life would probably be
completely different what it is now.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Signature in ass
13. What do you think of your fans?
They keep this thing going, and honestly if people comes after the show to say like “hey, we like what you do”,
that really makes our day. We want to thank everyone who have came to rock with us to our shows around the world.
14. What do you think of our site?
Always great to see pages about bands and music, that’s the spirit!
15. Something add?
Thank you for the interview and people go check out our new music video “Falling” and blast our debut album
