Interviews: Letter Of Marque

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band, Letter Of Marque, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Jeff thought of the name and we all liked the idea and how it sounded. He had some complex reason why Letter of Marque should be the band name but we all kind of forget.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Metal music has so much energy, and we love bringing energy to our live shows, and showcasing it in our writing.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Me (Vinny) and Matt Gund went to the same high school together, but didn’t really meet until after high school when a mutual friend introduced us. Jeff joined shortly after and was a friend of Matts from work. Griffin joined a few months after, once the trio became more serious and wanted to expand their musical talents and add a drummer. Derek was the most recent addition and has been with for a little over a year now.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Vinny’s favorite band is Radiohead, Matt’s favorite band is Whitechapel, Griffin’s favorite band is Rush, Derek’s favorite band is Sum 41, and Jeff doesn’t have a favorite band. He listens to anything and everything that will inspire his songwriting.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Between the 5 of us we have so much creativity flowing at every practice. We are story tellers, we like to write a story and compose music to follow along with it.

6. Where was your last gig?

Well before COVID. We are looking to get back to playing shows once everything is back to normal.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere that would let us perform our music.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Chad Kroeger, the man is a legend.

9. Whom not?

We aren’t opposed to doing a feature with anyone. If the music will come out great then there is no reason to turn down the opportunity.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

All the time. After the first 20 seconds of the opening song it usually goes away. Try to picture the audience in their underwear.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Nickelback, for sure.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven’t had any crazy requests yet. Feel free to send any crazy requests our way! 

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are great. Anyone who supports our dreams of pursuing music has a special place in our heart.
