Interviews: The Final Clause Of Tacitus

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band, The Final Clause Of Tacitus from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

When the band was first forming with Tom (guitarist) and Luke who was the drummer at the time. They had a few songs formed and realised they were onto something and decided they needed a band name, so Luke told Tom to come up with something ‘short and sweet’. Tom being Tom, did the exact opposite.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because its fun! It gives us such freedom with what we write and play. We can write heavy music and play metal shows, but we can also write funky tunes and play family friendly festivals. It’s great. As a vocalist as well, it gives me such freedom with my lyrics and how I form songs. To be able use rap, screams, singing or whatever to really get across the emotions of a track was a big reason I wanted to do music like we do.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Nope. Andy (bassist) knew our ex, ex drummer Luke who got him in with Tom. Matt (vocalist) saw an ad online they had put out looking for a vocalist and applied that way. We all got on straight away both musically and friendship level.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Matt – Alkaline Trio

Tom – RHCP

Andy – Tenacious D

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Whatever is making me feel something, whether that be hate or love. Whatever the spectrum of emotion, just go with it and write.

6. Where was your last gig?

At the Half Moon, 29th Feb 2020. What feels like a million years ago now.

7. Where would you like to play?

Download Festival, Obviously. And Reading fest because we are from Reading, but the festival doesn’t play much alternative music anymore.

8. Who would you like to support?

Rage Against the Machine would probably be the golden ticket to support.

9. Who not?

The 1975 because, well, have you heard them?!?

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Nope, we’re all natural show-offs I guess. Love hitting the stage. It’s our fave thing to do. Umm try not to give a shit what people think and enjoy yourself.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Alkaline Trio, (Hed P.E), RATM, RHCP

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

My signature. Lol. Why would you want that?

13. What do you think of your fans?

They’re our dirty little funkers.

14. What do you think of our site?

So many good artists to explore. It’s great!

We have a track we collaborated with (Hed) P.E on our new EP being released through Suburban Noize records later this year! Keep an eye out for it.
