Interviews; Misanthropik Torment

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Blackened Death Metal band, Misanthropik Torment from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I actually went through a lot of different ideas for the band name, one of the names that I was leaning towards was Haunted, however being that, that is the title of a Six Feet Under album I didn't want to use it. I do my best to stay original, which can be hard when everything good has already been done before. I really wanted the band name to be an authentic representation of the message that I have. Misanthropy came to mind, but there is more than just an extreme hatred for mankind that lurks beneath the surface of my psychosis, there is also pain, trauma and many other hard-to-define emotions that torment not just myself, but most individuals in this sick world. Then there is the fact that hatred is such a strong emotion, the hatred itself can be tormenting if one by their nature is not truly a hateful person. So yes a lot of thought was put into this project. I wanted to make sure there would be no misunderstanding what Misanthropik Torment is.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

This is the only genre that I can truly express what I am trying to convey. And I absolutely love death metal, its technical precision, the riffs, and the music itself is a science.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all met online through networking our own solo or side projects. Josh Freeman is the mastermind behind his solo project There Is Only One Elvis, he had sent me his music to master, and I was blown away , the dude literally is a death metal machine! So I asked him if he was interested in working on the next Misanthropik Torment album, and here we are. Hector and Jim came on shortly afterwards to learn the music and prepare for our upcoming festival in August.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Erick: This is not a fair question. There are too many amazing bands to name just one as my favorite

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life, my lyrics are about real issues in this world, the real monsters that haunt the depths of my psychosis, and anyone who has had to endure these atrocities. I don't need to look very far for inspiration, all I have to do is remember.

6. Where was your last gig?

March 2nd 2020 at Cosmic charlies before the plague shut its doors forever.

7. Where would you like to act?

I'm not an actor, but I would love to perform at America west arena , I'm originally from Arizona so I think that would be cool.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would love to perform with the following bands on one bill, Six Feet Under, Dying Fetus , Morbid Angel, Amon, Cannibal Corpse

9. Whom not?

Nickleback or any band in that genre. They all sound like sissies to me.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Nope, there is no room for fear of what others might think. We know what needs to be done and we do it. 11. What bands have inspired you the most? Six Feet Under, Dying Fetus , Morbid Angel, Amon, Cannibal Corpse, Death, Ozzy, Megadeth, Obituary and Kiss.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing yet

13. What do you think of your fans?
