This is a new interview with the Sludge Metal band DRUNKEN CROCODILES from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

Because it's fucking cool!! Hahaha... We were looking for something powerful, ancient, warm, and swampy, so the idea of the crocodile came out. Then we are dirty drunkards, so adding the rest was relatively easy!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I really like stoner atmospheres. The dreamlike, repetitive, psychedelic environments. I grew up with thrash metal and heavy metal. But as the years went on, I focused more and more on "warm" sounds. However, everything is always proposed in a very "energetic" key.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, we were just acquaintances, as in the musical environment of our city we know each other a little. But there was nothing more than that.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Really hard to say. Many many bands.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The energy of the moment. When we are closed in our try room we start with a nice riff, which can be powerful, fast, sad, repetitive, simple... It really depends on what is going through your head at that moment. Music is still an art form, and it is influenced by the mood you have at that precise moment.

6. Where was your last gig?

On our European tour at the end of 2019. Unfortunately, too much time has passed. The covid arrived, and I broke up with the other band members. So I had to start all over again.

7. Where would you like to act?

At a great stoner festival in America.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Nick Oliveri's project

9. Who not?

Justin Bieber... Aahahhahahh

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

It is right to be afraid of the stage. It helps you to trust yourself, to improve, to be honest with yourself and your skills. And then... there is the alcohol!! Liquid courage!!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Something like Quotsa... Red Fang... Mastodon... Kyuss... Black Sabbath... Truck Fighter... Orange Goblin...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Strange things I would say none ... exciting, a group of women who insistently asked me to undress during a life

13. What do you think of your fans?

Which are still too few. Hahaha

14. What do you think of our site?

Very complete, and with a lot of news from the underground music world. It is always very nice to see that there are people with a real passion for music and that they carry on these projects with energy and dedication! Great!!

15. Something to add?

Thank you Jon for this great interview. And I invite everyone to follow us on socials. Watch our videos online, and follow us on the journey! I recently changed the line-up, and we finally restarted after a forced stop period. In spring we already have several live shows, and we plan to release a second album asap! So stay tuned guys... Cheers!!! Drunken Crocodiles
