Interviews: Blood Of Us

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Doom Metal/Gothic Metal band, Blood Of Us from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE. 

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It actually came out from a song that I like, "Blood of Another" from Paradise lost, that was the name of the band for a couple of days, then I thought, another? it's our blood, so, our blood of us is

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I've always enjoyed slow music. Then speed it up a little bit but always bring the tempo down again. My favorite music is always at a slow tempo. I do enjoy fast music like death, black or punk, but slow music is my thing

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Carlos and Fran knew each other but not me. We met through a common friend in 2020

4. Each band member's favorite band?

JM: paradise lost

Carlos: Periphery

Fran: Symphony X

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I always keep some kind of recording device with me in case I come up with something. Anything can inspire me, just about anything. One thing I can't do. I can't write songs if I'm mad or sad. I just can't. I do make sad songs but I have to be happy

6. Where was your last gig?

A long time ago. I can't even remember. 2018 I think. It was with another band. 

7. Where would you like to act?

Mmm, probably Japan.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I'd say, Michael Graves. Met the guy several times, really really nice guy

9. Whom not?

Maybe some musicians are involved in politics. I hate politics

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Never, but I've forgotten lyrics, or made up lyrics just to get by. You just have to relax, be confident and try to do the best you can. When you're about to hit the stage, try to get away from everything that could upset you. Just good vibes. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I'd say Type O Negative and Paradise Lost

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Sign a cd that didn't feature any music made by me. I think the person confused me with someone else. I signed it anyway.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We have just a few, but they are die-hard fans... so, thank you all.
