Interviews: Reanimator

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal band Reanimator from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We found the name in 2004 after watching the horror movie Re-Animator. We also thought at that time that "Reanimating" the Thrash Metal genre was what we wanted to do. At that time we were not aware that there was a UK band in the '80s named Re-Animator. We still kept the name later on 'cause we like it.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The energy created by these riffs, So satisfying

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, we did not

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Patrick: Exodus

Franky: Municipal Waste

Fred: Annihilator

Joel: Megadeth

Phil: Revocation

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We're inspired by old-school and new-school thrash metal bands such as Exodus, Annihilator, Megadeth, Voivod Municipal Waste, Revocation. We like to write about different subjects touching us. We sometimes elaborate on some fiction stories too or use metaphors to deliver our messages

6. Where was your last gig?

In Montreal at Turbo Haus for "Commotion" release party

7. Where would you like to act?

I would love to play at MTelus here in Montreal, cool venue.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Gary Holt and Exodus, they're the true Thrash Masters!

9. Whom not?

WASP, we opened for WASP once and they're total dicks.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Not at all, a couple of beers might help haha

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Exodus, Megadeth, Annihilator, Voivod

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Do you want to have sex with my girlfriend? I did it (more than once)

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans! Thrash metal fans are the most dedicated fans.
