Interviews About Albums: Crown Of Madness - Elemental Binding (2023)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Canadian Dissonant Death Metal band Crown Of Madness to ask some questions about their upcoming album "Elemental Binding"

1. What can you say about this new EP?

We debated for a while on releasing another EP instead of a full-length one. We felt our first one “The Void” had medium-sized shoes to fill, so we needed to push ourselves a bit, both musically and with production. That being said, we certainly hope we achieved that with this second EP.

2. What is the meaning of the EP name?

“Elemental Binding” is about physically becoming one with the earth. When we die, our body is taken by the elements, but also gives back to the cycle of life. Metaphorically making us immortal beings.

3. Which one is the composer of the EP?

Vocalist/guitarist Sunshine Schneider is the main composer.

4. If you had to pick one song, which would you pick?

A Wrenching Nostalgia. Hands down.

5. Is there a special message in this EP? If there is what is it?

Coming to terms with our immortal souls.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

“Madness ensues. I long for the truth. This empty shell is no longer of use. Take my mind, this sacrifice”

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Most important inspirations for this album: Bloodborne, Dark Souls, World of Warcraft AURORA, Laura Marling, Ulcerate, Warforged And we’d like to thank our good friend Alex Nicol, the true mastermind behind our riffs. We’ve been writing music with this guy for over a decade, and wouldn’t be this far without him. He’ll be filling in on guitar for a few shows in 2023 and we couldn’t be more excited! Thanks, friend. We love you.

8. Something to add?
