Interviews: Opus Arise

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Orchestral Metal band, Opus Arise from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I wanted something to represent both the classical and metal sides of the project. 

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Became a fan of it when I was a wee lad and always wanted to do something myself.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We've known each other in the classical music scene (Community Orchestras, University etc.) 4. Each band member favourite band? Pretty safe to say that Dream Theater was a huge inspiration to all of us. 5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? We find a concept (High Fantasy, Cyberpunk etc.) and write music to that concept. 6. Where was your last gig? Pub 340, Nov 2019 with The Runaway Four, Omnisight and 20 Six Hundred, great show! 7. Where would you like to act? We'd love to tour throughout Europe and Asia! 8. Whom would you like to feature with? Cydemind and The Night Watch would be a cool bill. 9. Whom not? Anyone who's sketch... 10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? No, fortunately enough. Taking live opportunities as much as you can! 11. What bands have inspired you the most? Dream Theater, Emperor, Symphony X... Beethoven, Holst, Sibelius... 12. Whats the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? Nothing comes to mind but we get told that we sound like video game music! 13. What do you think of your fans? To those who like our music, thank you. 14. What do you think of our site?
