Interviews: Dark Remedy

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Hard Rock band, Dark Remedy from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We formed this band right before going into the COVID-19 pandemic, we didn't have a name at the time, but we looked at this band as our remedy for what was going on, the dark times the world was going through, and with that Dark Remedy was born.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We wanted to reach as many ears as possible. We take influences from all genres of music, but we love the way that mainstream hard rock can appeal to even the most casual listener. We wanted to make music that has substance for the most hardcore music fans but is catchy enough that the most casual music fan would also enjoy it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The two founders of the band Steven and Cary worked together closely for years with Steven recording and producing Cary's other band at the time.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Cary - KISS

Steven - Devin Townsend

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We draw inspiration from everything and everywhere. Everyday life struggles, everyday life victories, and also what may be currently going on in the world.

6. Where was your last gig?

We have yet to play live and have been focused on writing and releasing singles on radio. We look to tour in 2024

7. Where would you like to act?

We want to see our fans everywhere, there is nowhere we wouldn't love to play. Our ultimate goal is to bring our sound to arenas.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Any of the bands we grew up listening to would be a huge honor. Saliva is one of those bands, the fact that we have Paul Crosby from Saliva drumming for us on everything we've released is an example of that dream coming true.

9. Whom not?

I can't think of anybody we wouldn't play with, but it's got to make sense for the two bands to be together.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think any time you step on stage, if you are serious about how you want the message of your music to be portrayed there will be a sense of "stage fright" to a degree, I welcome it, it means I care that much about putting on a good show for our fans.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We pull inspiration from a lot of bands, from classic rock/metal, and death metal, to our peers currently on rock radio, to prolific songwriters even from outside of the rock realm.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don't have any super crazy stories on that from the music world but I am also a pro wrestler (Cary) and I have had several fans ask for my used ring tights.

13. What do you think of our site? 

I think it's a fantastic site and we appreciate all you do for rock bands around the world!
