Interviews: Sorrow Enthroned

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Brutal Death Metal band, Sorrow Enthroned from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I've always struggled with depression, and the band name is the idea that pain and sorrow are the only truths of existence. Maybe that’s Stockholm syndrome, it seems like death is our shepherd.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

For me black metal was an outlet for very powerful negative emotions and it helped me work through things. However I have always loved the heavier side of the genre like death and brutal death metal and so that comes through a lot now. The power and aggression are unmatched in any genre in my opinion

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

This is a one man band, I don’t know any other musicians who are into this type of metal where I live.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

My favorite black metal band is dark funeral and my favorite death metal band of all time is morbid angel but I'm currently listening to a lot of Sanguisugabogg

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Songs usually come from some other place, it’s a quiet voice or small melody or rhythm pattern, or ill be jamming and a really cool riff will come up and ill work that into a song. Also listening to other bands makes me want to pick up the guitar

6. Where was your last gig?

I don’t play live yet, and I haven’t been to a show in a while, the last one I attended was sanguisugabogg at the webster in hartford

7. Where would you like to act?

Ill go anywhere I want to wander the earth

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I'm going to start a slam band, so maybe once I do that it would be cool to collab with peeling flesh or snuffed on sight

9. Whom not?

I definitely don’t like rap, but other than that im pretty open. I think musicians can create something really cool even if their styles differ slightly

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I hope I don’t have to go through that. Well see

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I really love morbid angel and cannibal corpse, devourment etc. I pull a little bit from each band. Even listening to the sorrow enthroned full lengths, each album is almost a different genre. I listen to the main heavy hitters of each genre and the lesser known acts are awesome too.

12. What do you think of your fans?

They're awesome, this album wouldn’t have happened if there weren’t people appreciating the band

13. What do you think of our site?

I think you guys are awesome and your reviews are descriptive and fun to read

14. Something to add?

Illicit Infantile Surgical Procedures will be released July 2023. If you like music about satan and killing babies youll enjoy this album. Thank you
