Behind The Artworks: Desert Kites - Sorry Ass (Single) (2023)

The artwork, like all our artwork so far, is one of our own photos. It’s a photo I took after I got stitched up from a mountain bike crash I had ages ago. I used to race mountain bikes up until a few years ago. On this particular, day I missed a corner on the trail, at some spectacular speed, and crashed into a pile of logs by the side of the trail. I didn’t think I was particularly badly hurt until I looked down and saw this gaping hole in my leg. I felt pretty sorry for myself after that. Stitches, scars etc. are all part of life, they can be physical and emotional. They are part of our story. That’s why we thought the image was appropriate.
