‘Poison Mirror’ was written to reflect a dystopian direction with our self-worth and the promise of connectivity with the world of social media. Having these little personal portals into each other’s lives we are slowly creating an ‘on stage’ persona with our private lives, everything curated to present the best image possible of our worlds which in turn presents a false expectation of what real humans are like in the real world, which then ups the ante for others which in turn creates more and more pressure and disappointment with reality.

 

Far from connecting us it makes us feel less and less related to each other as the imaginary divided between fantasy and reality widens.

 

But we do have a choice and we can take the advantages while feeling at home with ourselves…maybe.
