Interviews: Diminium

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Atmospheric Metal/Groove Metal band Diminium from Ukraine. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Dimi Rich: In the beginning, I planned to name it Giganium, but an old friend of mine suggested using the part of my name, so I changed it to Diminium.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Dimi: It just came out of me like it is. I just started to play riffs and everything came out the way I heard it. So I think it's just my vision of the music I create.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Dimi: Well, most of the musicians involved in these records are my good friends

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Dimi: Actually, I'm a big fan of Sonata Arctica and Zeal and Ardor and Devin Townsend!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Dimi: The things that surround me in daily life, basically. And nature to some extent. I love to have a good walk or travel before diving into recording or writing!

6. Where was your last gig?

Dimi: Oh, that was a long time ago, before COVID shit happened...

7. Where would you like to act?

Dimi: I want to perform in Japan sometime of course. But in general, I just want to play live no matter where - I'm so hungry for live gigs and tours!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Dimi: Mike Patton or Manuel Gagneux

9. Whom not?

Dimi: Britney Spears :D

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Dimi Rich: Actually not :D

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Dimi: At the moment I'm possessed with Zeal And Ardor. I think this is something totally new and really unique. I wish they become something really big like Rammstein or Metallica!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Dimi: Play Nothing Else Matters

13. What do you think of your fans?

Dimi: They are amazing! They are really supportive and I'm so happy to get such great feedback for my new record!

14. What do you think of our site?

Dimi: Oh it's nice! You give the underground scene some sort of place for discovery!

15. Something to add?

Dimi: Thanks for the questions! I hope new listeners will like my new record "Dissonant!
