Interviews: Palehørse
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band Palehørse from Finland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like
that?
We became a trio after the guitarist left the band. It didn't feel natural to seek a new
guitarist, so we decided to continue as a trio. Around the same time, we were in talks with
Indie Records about a record deal and had a meeting in Helsinki. Towards the end of the
meeting, there was a cautious question, "What about the band name Amendfoil? Could it
be something else?" Among ourselves, we had already been discussing a name change, so
we were more than open to it, especially wanting a fresh start for the trio coinciding with
the re-release of the album. Therefore, the name changed, and the new name was found
nearby, from the song "Pale Horse."
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
For me (born in the late '80s), heavier music has always meant the freedom to create
whatever you want. The musical standpoint has always been to make the best song
possible, whether it's deathcore, happy- rock, or anything else. The same applies to this
album; it's tediously heavy music, disregarding anyone else's genre boundaries.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We've known each other since elementary school. We're from a pretty small village called
Äetsä.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Lassi: Korn. My first touch with heavier music. The band has been an ever-evolving-mayhem that
always surprises you somehow.
Samu: Pantera. Amazing live band and amazing songs.
Ville: Machinae Supremacy. Great classic Swedish rock with a gaming music twist for every
occasion
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Creating music can be a therapeutic experience at its best. It makes you feel something
meaningful that turns into music, bringing joy or comfort (or pain) to those around you.
Also showing a cool riff at the rehearsal space to your bandmates is always enjoyable.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our album release party at Hönö in Tampere, Finland on November 17th
7. Where would you like to act?
On all of the biggest festivals in Europe
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Any of those previously mentioned favorite bands
9. Whom not?
Every collaboration is special and interesting, so we won't exclude anyone, who is talented
and interesting
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat
that?
The advice I once got was: “No one even knows your music”. Just go for it.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
We try to draw inspiration from all sorts of artists and bands. So no one particular comes to
mind.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Unfortunately, nothing weird has ever occurred in that department
13. What do you think of your fans?
Amazing people with a weird taste in music
14. What do you think of our site?
Keep up the good work! It’s nice to know people still root for the underdogs. And also the nice
logo you have on your header.
15. Something to add?
Go listen to our shit! Or better, come see us live.
