Interviews: Serpents

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Electronic band Serpents from Poland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

We had a long battle over the name, we had countless ideas but couldn't come to a conclusion, in the end, our vocalist was the most persistent one and we settled for Serpents

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We love metalcore as a genre overall because it has plenty of room for experimentation, being inspired by other genres like techno, post-rock, future bass, dubstep, and so on. We knew our music would come out quite eclectic nonetheless

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We've known each other for over 10 years. We played together in a deathcore band but when that chapter came to an end, we decided that we would continue on but on a different musical path.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Waldek (Guitar/Synth) - Nine Inch Nails

Mario (Bass) - Meshuggah

Piotrek (Drums) - too many to count

Łukasz (Vocals) - Born of Osiris

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

To be honest, other songs. When we hear something cool we're like... how can we write something that's as equally cool and moves us in the same way.

6. Where was your last gig?

Lublin, Poland - klub FK Zgrzyt. A sizeable venue with a good PA and lights. Was a good show.

7. Where would you like to act?

Japan, Europe, USA, Australia

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Billie Eilish

9. Whom not?

Black metal vocalists

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

A long time ago, sure, to the point of terrible stomach ache. Right now it's mild nerves that a drink or a beer soothes.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The Acacia Strain, Nine Inch Nails, Noisia, Bring Me the Horizon, Northlane, Odesza, Flume, Pendulum, Volumes... lots of it

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing weird up to now, we'll see what the future holds.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Well, we're a brand new band, establishing ourselves, so the few fans we have we cherish, and try to interact with them as much as we can on all social media platforms.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's sturdy!

15. Something to add?

Not really, it was fun writing all this down.
