Interviews: Jifnotcif

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Punk Rock band Jifnotcif from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

For some reason, they decided to change the cleaning product from Jif to Cif, which we did not agree with.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Because it was a modern take on the genre that we like but wanted it to be more progressive, melodic, and current.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Ning, Lez, and PK go back to their school days, working together on all kinds of projects. Si then came into the scene in the early 2000s when Jif was formed

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Ning - NOFX

Lez - Iron Maiden

PK - The Exploited

Si - Bumpin Uglies

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We enjoy the creative challenge of writing something that you know will impact someone. the lyrics come from a modern-day meme culture and ironic stances of hyperbole.

6. Where was your last gig?

Percy's Bar Cafe Whitchurch

7. Where would you like to act?

Rebellion Festival, Vans Tour, Slamdunk

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Rise Against, Turnstile

9. Whom not?

We'd share the stage with Ed Sheeran if it got us a shot at Wembley

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

All the band members have suffered from stage fright, which is perfectly normal for anyone starting out, for Ning's first gig he couldn't look at the crowd! You have to develop thick skin gather confidence in your ability in your craft and perform to the best of your ability. There will be setbacks, not every performance, and not every crowd will be the same, but you're only as good as your last gig, practice, commit, and try to do everything you do better than the last.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

NOFX, Iron Maiden, Rise Against.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We wrote the final selection of the album on a paper plate at a BQQ and a fan asked for the plate

13. What do you think of your fans?

Absolutely fantastic, the differences, they have helped us get to where we are, and appreciate each and every one of them.

14. What do you think of our site?

Great content, you've got a great outreach of talented bands and we're looking forward to working with you.

15. Something to add?

2024 is looking to be a promising year, we look forward to you hearing our new album and rocking in a City near you!
