Interviews: Marble Ghosts

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal band Marble Ghosts from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Originally, we had a song called Marble Ghosts. Adam, our guitar player, thought that it would make a really cool band name. Before this, we hadn’t been able to decide on a name that everyone liked. It didn’t take long for us to agree that Adam was right. It works perfectly too because it fits the overall theme of the band in terms of pointing out historical and present-day wrongs and not allowing ourselves to be ruled by the ghosts of the past.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We love hard rock and metal because you can have moments that will blast an audience with heaviness, but mixed with melodic bass, guitar, or vocals, you can also really create beautiful-sounding music. We also love the energy that comes from playing music where the crowd and band can feed off of each other, especially when a pit forms. There’s nothing better than watching one form and knowing your song got them there.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Not at all. We found each other using Facebook (Meta?) of all things.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Dylan: Alice in Chains

Adam: Bullet for My Valentine

Paul: To/Die/For, The 69 Eyes, Sinamore, Poisonblack (Paul listens to so much music, that he couldn't choose one!)

Jer: Dream Theater

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Dylan, our singer, wrote the lyrics and came up with the concepts. He has very powerful views and convictions. The inspiration comes from all the disharmony in the world and basically what bothers us. Controversial, yes, but we want people to think, reflect, and understand where we are coming from. We will divide, but we will also conquer, speaking truth to power.

6. Where was your last gig?

The Dominion Tavern in Ottawa, Canada. The crowd was insane. At the end of our set, the crowd wanted more. The place was completely packed, there was a pit, which our singer jumped into, and the energy was off-the-charts.

7. Where would you like to act?

Download festival. A lot of our favorite bands have played it. Locally, we would love to play Bluesfest, which sees huge international and Canadian acts play every year.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Alice in Chains, Foo Fighters, Metallica and Taylor Swift

9. Whom not?

The Westboro Baptist Church Choir.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

One beer can help you take the edge off. Honestly, the best thing for stage fright is to practice. Know the song, the note, the beat so well that you barely have to think about it. You’ll fall into the performance and any fear just goes away.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Alice in Chains, AFI, Metallica, and King Diamond

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Hasn’t happened yet, but hopefully, not to hold this severed hand.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are growing our fanbase, but the ones we have are incredible! They try to make it to every show.

14. What do you think of our site?

We really like the idea of bands getting into the specifics of what their artwork and songs mean. Obviously, it’s still subjective as lyrics can mean something completely different to another person, even beyond the creator’s original intent. That’s what is so incredible about creating art. Very cool concept overall.

15. Something to add?

Thanks for checking out our music and to Breathing The Core for featuring our music and band!
