Interviews: SRAI

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band SRAI from Kuwait. Check out the interview and follow the band on their SOCIALS.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Hey this is Abzy the band's frontman

I was looking for a traditional Kuwaiti name that has a good meaning and a good story behind it so while I was streaming live on Twitch I was taking suggestions then a friend mentioned the name SRAI and it means the guiding light.

In the past, Kuwaitis used very simple means of lighting based on oil fuels or some oil derivatives imported from abroad, taking different forms and names such as (Al-Kandari .. Saray Al-Zahawi .. and Al-Lala .. and Saray Al-Lux) to dispel the darkness that was camped on homes, roads, and shops in the past.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Because this genre felt very fresh and it has no limit when it comes to exploring and trying new things, that’s why it felt very relatable.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all actually met through mutual friends and we played in different projects and other bands before forming SRAI.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

YES it happens all the time when we play live with our old project, and the best way to beat it is just to go for it and not worry, the fright usually takes a minute max then everything feels fine afterward.
