Interviews About Albums: Mike Stamper - Emerge From Error (2024)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Spanish Metal/Djent solo project Mike Stamper to ask questions about his album "Emerge From Error"

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

“Emerge From Error” is my third instrumental album as Mike Stamper. More than an hour of instrumental metal music, with a conceptual focus on reaching our final redemption after mistakes in life. It’s the third chapter of the Error saga, where the protagonist manages to rid himself of nostalgia and pain, ultimately confronting the Error entity, absorbing its power (learning the lesson), and thereby escaping that dark mental state.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

"Emerge From Error” represents that chance of overcoming any mistake you can commit in life, drawing a clear analogy with computer-related/IT errors.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Me (Aitor G. “Mike Stamper”).

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

It’s a hard choice, as there are many relevant songs for me on this album. “Winterpark” is probably the one for me because of the musical and personal motivations behind it, but it’s really hard to choose only one. Each one has its own unique mixture of elements. Just give them all a chance! 🙂

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

There is always a possibility of achieving redemption through hard work on self-demand and self-compassion.

6. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

I was always heavily influenced by melodic death, groove, and prog metal music, later complemented with contemporary influences, including metalcore, new metal, deathcore, and djent. That somehow forged my particular vision of metal by mixing all of these elements with ambient and post-rock influences. Each song has its own atmosphere and mixture of these inspiring genres. These were the main inspirations for this album, along with several personal experiences which inspired the composition process.

7. Something to add?

I’m really grateful to be featured on your amazing website! Hope you guys enjoy my music, which you can listen to for free on every streaming platform. If you like instrumental metal and ambient music, I’m pretty sure you’ll love it, 😊
