Interviews About Albums: The Raging Project - Future Days (2024)

In this new interview, we sat down with the French Progressive Metal band The Raging Project to ask questions about their album "Future Days"

1. What can you say about this new CD?

The Raging project is a studio project that contains 12 songs with 12 different moods, sometimes metal, sometimes progressive, a little bit electro and atmospheric, a great sonic experience. We are 16 musicians and vocalists to play the songs and all these guests were amazing by performing my music.

2. What is the meaning of the CD name?

Most of the songs are talking about the way we are treating our planet and this will lead to the end of mankind. So I was sad, angry, and a bit desperate while writing music and words, so the name was first Project Rage, and turned to The Raging Project. And the title “Future Days” is now easy to understand, it talks about what the future days of the Earth will be if we don’t act before it’s too late…

3. Which one is the composer of the CD?

Myself, I wrote everything, music and words, and I let the musicians be totally free with their way of playing, some added great things on songs and they enlightened some atmospheres so much, it was a real pleasure to discover their works.

4. If you have to pick one song, which one would you pick?

I would say “Rage!” which was the first song composed, it will be the second single released, just before the release of the album, in early February. Check it out soon!

5. Is there a special message in this CD? If there is what it is?

The message is simple. We all know where we are going by destroying little by little our environment, our lives will be soon complicated with all the pollution, climatic changes, violence, and poverty, and I hope we will find a way to stop our madness and decrease our craziness.

6. Are there some lyrics that you´d love to share?

I’d like to share the second part of the song “Ambient”, it is short and sung by Ingrid Denis and me, it’s talking about the resignation and flight of God, who left us alone with our madness, our destiny, and our unconsciousness.

« Falling angel… Falling angel…
Times are changing… Times are changing…
On the way to the ultimate change… »
May I ask you a last request
For the future of the race ?
Good and evil aren’t so separate
Wouldn’t you save a few characters ?
Wouldn’t you save the best of us ?
Just when I was going to pray
Just when I realised there’s no way
God is gone with all the tears of all mankind
God is gone with all our deceit in his mind
Now we’re leading our own fate..
Finally left ourselves against ourselves…

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

When I compose, I think I am influenced by the music I hear at this time, so maybe I was inspired by Pain of Salvation, Rage (German band), Ayreon, and still Pink Floyd and Camel. But I don’t know if there are some kind of moods of these bands in my music…

8. Something to add?

Thanks for your interest in The Raging Project. I hope the album and the music will be appreciated by most people around the world!
