Interviews About Albums: VIOLET ETERNAL - Reload The Violet (2024)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Italian and Japanese Melodic Metal band VIOLET ETERNAL to ask questions about their album "Reload The Violet"

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Jien Takahashi: We made a Japanese-style melodic metal album which Ivan Giannini and I have always wanted to make.

Of course, there are power metal songs, but there are also a lot of mid-tempo melodic metal songs.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Jien Takahashi: I came up with the album title first when I was left from my previous music activities that I had been working with long time.

Then I started designing the artwork inspired by the album title.

That album title is a very relevant part of my previous music activities.

Actually band color of the previous music activities was 'Violet', so I came up with this title to get back with reloaded the lost 'Violet'.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Jien Takahashi: Basically, I'm the main songwriter for the album.

But I was writing with Ivan for the song called 'Over the Sorrow'.

Also 'Sonata Black' is a cover song of Timo Tolkki.

4.If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Jien Takahashi: I picked up the song called 'Under the Violet Sun'.

That song is Ivan's one of my favorite songs from the album.

That song had a huge inspiration from J-ROCK songs!!

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Jien Takahashi: Almost all of the songs on the album meaning is 'humans-separation'.

Always I thought before something starts, there is an end… but if there is an end, there is also a beginning.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Jien Takahashi: I should pick up the two songs such as 'The Echoes of Time' and 'Ember Flame'.

Please get the album and listen to the song while reading the lyrics.

'The Echoes of Time' is a story of two important events in my life.

But the lyrics of 'Ember Flame' a very difficult, actually both Ivan and I don't know the true meaning of the lyrics of this song yet.

So please ask the meaning of this song to Ollie Bernstein who wrote the lyrics of this song!

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Jien Takahashi: I should say thank you to 'Ivan Giannini' my partner in VIOLET ETERNAL, he was reaching out to me when my previous music activities were over and I was depressed.

If it weren't for him, I would have stopped my music activities and become just a guitar coach maybe!! haha

8. Something to add?

Jien Takahashi: Keep on melodic metal!!

Thanks to everyone for reading that interview and who giving me the opportunity of this interview!!
