Interviews: GUTRICYDE

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band GUTRICYDE from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

We just made it up with the thought of Guttural vocals style along with ...guts. And it sounds cool, we think.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The Death Metal fever hit us all in the early '90s when Carcass, Obituary, Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower..etc..were making their rounds. It's just a raw, nasty morbid style of music that we all gravitated to.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, for a very long time

4. Each band member's favorite band?

There are just too many good bands to have 1 favorite.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Other artists. Horror movies. Pent-up aggression and the desire to create something that is your own.

6. Where was your last gig?

Reno's Chop Shop in Deep Ellum, Tx

7. Where would you like to act?

In a morgue

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Fulci, Blood Red Throne, Frozen Soul, Creeping Death

9. Whom not?

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Very early on, but you get over it pretty quick, after a few gigs. I personally (Bret) still get the jitters, but it is mostly the fear of what could go wrong...lol

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The earlier years of Carcass, Slayer, and Bolt Thrower really got the gears turning back in the 90's. But along the way, there has been Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, and Obituary. We are all former members of early 90's TXDM bands (Embalmed and Gruesome Fate). Going back and listening to some of our older music is pretty inspiring as well.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Still waiting for that one.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The absolute best

14. What do you think of our site?

Really dig it. Lots of good stuff, and the support is amazing

15. Something to add?

Our second LP titled "Desires Of The Morbid" will be released spring of 2024 on Corpse Gristle Records.
